Neon Dottyback Sand Thrower

Could anyone tell me if this is normal behavior? My Neon Dottyback keeps going back to one corner of the tank and digging it out. He's taking the sand in his mouth and spitting it on the nearby rocks, covering them. I go back once in a while and fill in the hole and blow the sand off the rocks, but it's rather annoying to see him doing that.

The other fish in the tank are a clown and lawnmower blenny. I feed once a day with about half a cube of some frozen preparation (a variety). Is there something I can do to keep him from doing that? We are deciding on our next fish, likely a flame angel. Will the new addition bring him in line? Thanks.

i have a tomato clown and a purple dottyback and they kick up sand like no tomorow i usually leave the hole cause they get tired of it and fill it back in somtimes but i do brush off the rocks to prevent die off.

Huh. So do you have a brush specifically for that? I use a turkey baster and it makes quite a dust storm.

yea i ether use a powerhead or a turkey baster ether will do the trick
