neon dottybacks

so i got an idea, i want to sell my twospot blenny and neon dottyback and statr over with two new neons in another 14g biocube, i stole the idea from a guy on the floor above me, we pretty much have identical setups, so we are trying to see who can have the nicest tank and be the first one to breed both species.

Just sell the blenny, and add a smaller neon dottyback Many of the bass family, including the dottybacks, do the sex change routine much like the clownfish. In some species they can even go back and forth :eek2:

yea the neons are known to switch again but it takes longer for the reverse switch to happen. yea i guess i could do that, i just thought if i got two new ones iy would be easier for some reason. i dont understand my own logic sometimes

That might work with other species of pseudocrhomids but not with aldabraensis or neons.

The best way is to get two really small ones and grow them , if you have a big one and add another one he will harras and kill the new addition.

Also you will have to feed really good once they grow to induce the female to produce eggs constantly if she ceases he will kill her.

A bigger tank is recomended for her to have where to escape since he becomes very hostile during incubation.
