Neon Green Polyp Sarcophyton Ehrenbergi

Does anyone know of any reliable sources that has a supply of this coral? I've been looking high & low but all I see are Tyree toadstools and ORA neon green toadstools. I have the so-called Japanese leather but it differs from this pc by having shorter polyps and it has a green skin on the top.

Any directions would be appreciated. Thanks!

No one has seen this toadstool around? Gosh, looks like I can only ever dream of owning this.:sad2:

check out e bay. I have found many people selling frags on craigslist and on my local fish forum. I do not know of anyone selling them outside the US.

I had a look at those but those are not the one I am looking for. The one I am seeking has polyps way more than 1" long.

Penny Harkins (aquacorals.com) has a good sized one in one of her display tanks but none that are for sale... Im hoping she frags it soon though :)

Penny's is actually an Australian green polyp crown sacrophyton in her old 220. Her and I have made 2 frags of it so far but each have been dedicated to becoming new parent corals. I was lucky enough to get the first frag of it to grow out for myself. I can estimate it will be some time later this year before she will be fraging it again. She has another in her new 220 that is what many call a tyree green polyp sacrophyton that is sweet as well. That won't have frags available for a long time though because its got a lot of growing yet to do before cutting can be done.

Ahh, I stand corrected, thanks Ryan! :)

In my experience that is the Steve Tyree Green Polyp Toadstool. I have one that is 3 inches in diameter inside my tank. The polyps extend further when they are in higher flow and medium (400) par lighting. Just my experience. :)

+1, my Tyree had polyps longer than an inch on it and looked identical to that pic...

I have the Aussie Green polyp crown Sarcophyton also. I bought a nice sized individual from DFS/DiversDen a little over a year ago and cut some frags.
I think it compares well to the Tyree Sarcophyton, the polyps are less dense, but longer in the individuals I've seen.

This frag was about 1cm per side a year ago, the body is about an inch across now, and the polyps extend a little less than an inch.

This is, as far as i was told, a Japanese leather. It was lost some color due to being moved a few times. I got it from Jason Fox about 7 moths ago and was thankfully one of the few corals to survive my 1100 miles tank relocation.

Nice. Just wondering, are Japanese leathers supposed to have green skin or pink skins? I've read conflicting information and can't seem to know if there are indeed 2 skin variants of the "Japanese toadstool".

I'll put up a pic of mine when I get home... Mine is the pinkish-beige stem and cap with the neon green polyps, and they are definitely over 1" long!
Mine is a Tyree Neon green
