Neon Toadstool Issue?

The neon tips of the toadstool aren't extending - is this normal? Only the heart shaped toadstool is showing - it's upright.

Is it new? What kind of flow is it in? Have you changed anything? How long has it been since its polyps were out? Does its flesh look really shiney or waxy?

Once in a while my colony will shed its skin, its polyps stay closed for 3 or 4 days. Not necessarily a big deal.

It's been about 2 weeks since I introduced it into my tank. It's in moderate flow. No changes.

Today half of the polyps are extended and the other half are out, but laying down because they are being held down by a clear shiny "skin". Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I attempt to free the polyps by removing the "skin"?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can blow it of with a baster if you want, it will eventually come off on its own. Mine did alright in moderate flow, but when I moved it to high flow it started to do very well.
