Neon yellow plating montipora?

Someone may prove me wrong, but I've never seen such a color morph with respect to a montipora.

I have seen, and owned, a cup coral (pagoda coral) which would qualify as "neon yellow" but it's not an SPS.
 
I have two yellow montipora species right now. One is yellow base with blue polyps and one is a deeper yellow with purple polyps. both are small frags and still encrusting the plugs so im not sure if they are going to plate when they get bigger or just keep encrusting. But i would not call them neon yellow. just a nice yellow color like a crayon.
 
I was asking bc the LFS has a couple small frags that are super bright yellow and look like their plating montiporas. I have never seen anything like them before. well i bought one for only 20 bucks. Ill try to get a good pic.
 
This is just a google search for "pagoda cup coral", but would qualify as "neon", and does look similar to a plating montipora.......

I think everyones eyes are different but I've yet to see a yellow plating monti in ten years of searching. Green; yes. Yellow; no. There are some yellowish encrusting montis with green or blue polyps, but they only keep that yellow color under some brite 20k's.

I have my yellow monti's under 8x54 T5 and they have kept the yellow color. I will try to get some pics tomorrow
 
Lfs is tropiquarium... I'm 99% sure it's a monti. I have never seen them either, that's why I bought it. It's extremely bright, it glows. My first thought was that it was dyed. I see no other pigment and it look like it plates.

Yellow monti caps? I believe you have t5 bulbs that would be considered blue or "20k"? IMO the hot5's that many people run can be as brite as a 250w MH.

Bring on the photos people; let's see some yellow monti caps!

I have a yellow cap (i however wouldn't refer to it as neon), have had it for years. I will try to take some pics of it tonight.
 
Yes and it did look very Monti-ish. Based on the picture though the blue light could be throwing the color off. Can you get a closer pic under more natural light color like 10k?
 
The old green Tyree "aequituberculata" turns sort of a highlighter yellow under low kelvin halides, with the same color polyps. Under high kelvin bulbs it is the greenest coral I know of. Looks a lot like that photo you posted.
