I recently bought a Aquacontroller II, with Aquanotes software and wanted to run it on the spare Mac Laptop, that is currently in my stand, running a few webcams of my tank.
I just finished setting it up, and it works! Yeay!! I'm running OSX 10.4
Here's how I did it:
1. Installed VirtualPC7 with WindowsXP.
2. Installed Aquanotes.
3. Bought a USB-to-Serial Port Cable from Nexxtech. $28 Product#260842. It comes with Drivers.

4. Plugged Usb Cable into computer, and then Neptunes RS232 cable into Usb Cable, and then into the Neptune controller.
5. In Windows XP, I installed the drivers as per instructions. It detected the Adapter and assigned it to port= COM3
6 Launch Aquanotes3, and it all works just like it should!! Yeay, I can see my graphs, and see the parameters etc.
I've been testing it out on my G4 Tower, but since everything seems to be working, I'll set it up on my spare old Laptop. I've searched for info on if it would work, but didnt see any success stories.
Now I'll try setting it up to be monitored over the web, and send emails to me about temperature alerts etc. But i might be easier to just controll the computer remotely with VNC.
I'm so happy it works!
