Nerite snails are lazy- is this your experience, too?

I got some nerites from reefcleaners. They hang out at the top rim of the aquarium. I can put them on rocks, but within 24 hours they all make their way back to the top rim of the glass. Should I pull them out, slice them up and feed them to the puffer:hammer:, or is there something they are actually good for?

Nerites are far from being lazy!
I had one that used to take excursions outside the aquarium.

I wish mine could use the energy they are spending laying eggs actually cleaning algae! Mine haven't made it out of the aquarium (yet, or to my knowledge:/)
