Nerite Snails?

I have 4 zebra nerite and a handful of olive nerite snails in one of my planted tanks. This tank however is being taken down.

I understand that nerites can and do live in full strength sea water, and need at least brackish water to breed.

I was wondering if I acclimated my zebra and olive nerites over, would they survive in my SW tank? They do an amazing job on algae in my planted tanks, so I was wondering if they would do the same in this tank?

Also would they eat corals?

Thanks!

I think you would be fine. I would just drip acclimate them over a few hours or even days. Also they do not eat corals, but I have heard olives can and will eat clams.

Yeah, I think you'd be OK too. They won't eat anything but algae (Olive Snails are different from Olive Nerites, and are predator/scavengers).

Cheers,

Don
