NetReef reactor sponge subsitute?

I have a NextReef media reactor. One I run GAC and the other GFO. Is there a screen type of substitute to use instead of the sponges that come with the unit? The sponges seem to be a pain and I am just getting started with using them....Thanks

anyone? trying to pick screen up tomorrow locally if its an item from a craft store or something along those lines.

I go to the Hobby/ Craft stores they sell a round or square mesh for knitting or something and it works great for reactors much cheaper than buying it from a LFS. PS use zip ties to keep them from moving.

Like JoAnnes craft store? Is there a certain thing I'm looking for or just mesh that I cut to size?

Found the mesh at my local craft store. Much better than the sponges. Thanks again for the tip.

The sponges do a decent job of keeping carbon in place by friction.
How are you guys keeping that plastic mesh in place? Zip ties were mentioned but I don't understand how they are used in this case.

I will zip tie the mesh to the top plate inside the reactor. Do the same for the bottom. Seems pretty easy...hopefully it is
