Ok guys been out of the hobby for a while, but before I got out I had a very successful SPS/LPS reef tank. But never could keep a RBTA to save my life. A month or two in they would just melt. I tried this twice and gave up. I recently got back into the hobby and set up a small 20g Long with the hopes of trying to keep a RBTA. I'll post my equipment list below please feel free to make any suggestions I really want to be successful with the next RBTA I get. I do currently have some amazing Extreme Blacker Ice Clowns in the tank, and it has been running for around two months. I don't plan to put a RBTA any time soon I just want to make sure I'm going in the right direction.
20L
150W 15,000k MH light
Aquamaxx HOB Protein Skimmer
750 gph Koralia
1-2 inch sand bed
15 pounds of LR
R.O. Water
Reef Crystals
.024 salinity
Running some GFO/Carbon to deal with some phosphates at the moment.
Also would anyone suggest dosing? I don't see a reason to but it's something that's crossed my mind. My parameters are in check right now, nitrates are around 10. But..... my p.h. always likes to be on the low side. Running a fresh air intake on my skimmer, hits 8.3 at the end of the day after a full lighting cycle.
Thanks, Mike
