Never seen this algae before!

So main my dt been infesting this algae for months now. They are now covering pretty much on all the rocks and bottom. My tangs barely touch the stuff. Does any one have any experiences in dealing with these?

Hard to tell from the pictures... but is it pink and billowy? like cotton candy

No idea, weird stuff, maybe turbos or a sea hare would wipe it out?

Not sure what it is either? How's the flow?? Specifically how's the flow near your sand bed where this stuff is forming..

I've seen similar algae develop in low flow areas

If you are referring to the pink cotton algae. These are total different. They are actually purple and grow in carpet formation in certain area and some what puffy

Flows shouldn't be a problem as I have 2 mp40 and 2 mp60s running full blast. Besides, these algae are pretty much covering all the rocks as well.

hard to tell from the pics, but it almost looks like coralline algae of some sort.

I had that stuff before. I think it is a type of coralline algae. Does no good to scrub it off, that just spreads it around your tank. I had to pull all my rock and spot treat with peroxide. It will take over and smother your corals if you let it.
