New 125 On The Block - Watch The Process! *Pictures Inside*

TJcop....Have you tested it by shutting down all pumps? It sure looks like your dangerously close to a flooding incident to me....

I shut it down...and the friggin' thing didn't work!:eek2:
By the time the air holes surfaced, the sump started to go over. After dinkin' around, the only thing I could come up with is to put a check valve inline. Since the Dolphin pump running the sump doesn't stop the backflow, I'm going to put in a checkvalve before just after the pump, right before it tee's off to the tank.
I know there are varying opinions on using check valves, but it's my only option at this point. I ordered this one frome Marine Depot. Hopefully this should solve my problem.
The worst that could happen is an overflow in the basement, amounting to about 3-5 gallons. Yes, I want to avoid that, so hopefully the check valve will do the job.
Thanks again to Jgleach for the advice. Sometimes I wonder how I manage to survive....oh yeah, I have my wife to help! :love2:

Just a quick FYI, my SLS Maristar hood just arrived. Taking lots of pics for all of you. I'll be posting pics of the Maristar and my ReeferMadness LR later this early afternoon. OMG....too excited!!!

Thanks in advance for the pics T.J. Looking forward to seeing the rock mostly... but the lights will be of interest! Kudos to jgleach for the sump insight... yikes! I am curious as to your decision to go with standard (mogul based) MH bulbs rather than DE HQI that most seem to be turning to now. Any input on your decision making process (other than price difference)?

Reef on!

Aha! Yes, now that makes more sense. Thanks for correcting my error nolofinwe. I should never have doubted TJ in his ability to research a lighting situation! :^) Do you yourself have a similar setup nolofinwe? Oh, and after checking you website (too much time on my hands today) I really need to see a pic of your new hairdo!

Here we go!!!

Here we go!!!

First we'll do the lighting...
Today, Mr. FedEx (actually a 3rd party deliver service) brought my new SLS Maristar.
Here's how it was delivered.

Here's what was left over. Most of the golf ball sized rubble ended up in the refuge.

And a few shots of the Southdown Storm. Aquascaping to follow in a few days once the sand settles down.

Thanks TJ... it looks like Santa came early this year... or late depending on how you look at it! The rock looks excellent. What would you say is the average size of each piece? Do you feel you have enough rock for your tank (may have to wait to see it in the tank for yourself before you can answer that one... understandable). I'm sure we all want to see the end result... rock in tank with lights on! :^)

Now... what did I do with my wallet???

You're simply too fast for me TJ ... must be the motorcycle! I was working on that last response and you uploaded my requested pics before I could finish. It will be interesting to see the rock after aquascaping and cycling the tank a bit.

Thanks again! :D

Yes, today was almost perfect. Except one of my ballasts is defective. It won't fire the halide. Oh well, can't have everything. Off to speak with PremAquatics.

Well you asked for some more Maristar pics. Unfortunately, my BlueWave III (it runs one buld, the BW7 runs the other two) seems to be defective. That's why you only see two lights on in the pics.
