New 125 up and running pics

here are some pics of the new 125. Set up this past weekend. What a pain. I never want to do this again. I think if I ever sell my house, the tank comes with it. Reef ready house quite area ( sounds good).
I also have one more aqualight coming for the middle section.

I was very anal about the tank falling into the basement so I got 6 14,600 pound rated metal support beams and put on the beams at all 4 corners and 2 in the middle to help support. The floor has drooped with out a doubt. The guy at home depot said it is over kill and I can hold a whole aquarium, but I am still nervous.

Be advised, these guys, (the name escapes me right now) but I believe they get HUGE, so good thing you have the supports to hold it up...
;)

I was told 6 to 8 inches but it takes a long time. Sweetlips is correct

Ok now you have me nervous, I have my 72 against a wall in the dining room and I didnt even look at the beams underneath in the basement.... I figured the weight is so distributed that it would be fine. Should I be concerned?

If the beams were going the other direction I would not be worried, but it was only resting on one horizontal beam and the floor drooped a bit.

If my math is right, 28" max size...
I would bring it back to the store with the above info in print.

From the article, I guess you are correct. Would it be safe to say that it will only grow to a comfortable size for the aquarium it is in, or just keep growing? It is a cool fish and is eating very well all kinds of food. It is also getting along with all tank mates.

If it did get that big, would it be something there is a market for with people that have larger tanks down the road?

Hi Joe, You are so right, I just got a good book that had this fish in it. Harlequin Sweetlips. Not only does it say it can get 28.3 inches, but it also says 200 gal tanks or more and will eat snails and cleaner shrimp. The guy new I had a 125 reef and said 6-8 inches and no problem in a reef. I guess I will have to bring him back.

keep an eye on that harlequin...they have big mouths if i remember correctly

Yup, if it thinks it can possibly fit your tankmates in its mouth, it will try, especially as it gets larger.
