Well new to me, it's jporters old tank. I thought I would start a thread to document the build and get some feed back.

I still have some cleaning up to do. I ordered a sponge on a foot long stick today to help reach the bottom.

I want to do the tank bare bottom with lots of zoas and mushrooms on the bottom. I am planning on using 2 maxspect XF-250 Gyre Pumps placed on each side of the overflow horizontally for water flow.

Here is some pictures of the rock I was planning to use. I am a little bit worried about the the two larger pieces on the coffee table. I bought them at a fish store and was told they came out of a fresh water tank but would be fine in a saltwater. I would say it has roughly the same density as the marco rock next to it and a corner that fell off seemed porous but it reacts to vinegar and has small flakes of what look like quartz in it. I also killed the live rock that is on the tarp by accident (put fresh water on it and left the tote in the heat for a few hours) so I am going to be bleaching, boiling, and acid washing it over the next few days.

I am not going to boil any more, but is it because toxins from certain coral can aerosolize? I am a little bummed about the other rock but I ordered some reef saver rock from brs so hopefully I can make something cool from that to replace those pieces.

Thanks for the advice.
