New 2-3" T. Gigas clam

My Girlfriend gave me any early Christmas present, a little Gigas!!!!! I was wondering if the little guys need to be target fed??? I had a little Maxima about 4 months ago that I lost and I do not want to lose this guy. I anyone knows please let me know.

I would say a 2"-3" gigas should be fed. It is borderline though. At 3"-4" I'd say it would be photosynthetic. How big is your tank? Are you aware that a gigas can get to be 24"? Some even bigger.

for the moment it is in my 55 gallon, when he gets bigger I will Have a huge enclosure in my basement. I have seen a couple monstrous Gigas and I am aware of what I have gotten myslef into.

I would target\bowl feed a 2" clam...3" I would dose the water.

I just picked up a small gigas also. I have been target feeding it every couple of days using the top of a 2 LTR pepsi bottle. I leave it over the gigas for about 15 minutes.
