New 20g long build

Just a tip...the fish are probably jumping out to get away from that big starfish. That's a fish eater, ya know. :)

Peace,

Chip

yeah, dont need to hear from the tang police... hes only in there because i got him for a killer price, and when i come across the other tang i want they will both be introduced to my 120 fowlr together. Just temporary.

The crazy part is at my LFS, the owner has a display only 40 breeder, with about an 8inch purple, yellow and hippo tang all together and full of coral, they practically just sit there, but he swears they are happy lol. NUTS!

Thanks Hyperion! I have been reading reviews from them, they do suck at service but i have actually had really good luck with them other than i ordered a six line and he showed up DOA, and when i contacted them they said their was nothing they could do for me.. I wont let one bad experience ruin it, ive had countless good ones with them.

Interesting... I had no idea brittle stars could eat fish, that makes sense as to why the fish would jump out. Havent seen him mess with the fish at all? I just dont see how they jump higher than 8 inches to clear the hood lol!

This is a good looking tank man. Keep it up.

Here is a question. Well, two. What type of substrate are you using in the DT and fuge, and where is your overflow from?

dt is reef grade arag alive, no substrate in the gium. The guim has a bunch of live rock and some macro algea and i just pull out the algea when it grows full.

overflow and returns are from glass-holes.com, the nano super with teeth and lid. Returns are 1/2inch line loc with round tips, im going to upgrade the tips to those spinning ones from innovative marine, and eventually when i come up with 250$ get an mp10 to really blow up the flow!

I'am still having trouble with this brown slimy stuff. It took out my sweet purple flower pot all the rest of the ric's except the blue ones. This is starting to **** me off, Im really not looking forward to losing all my coral to this algea that seems to pop up out of nowhere. Going to do a water change this weekend and see if it helps.

Thanks man. :)

Brown stuff seems to have dissapeared (fingers crossed) got a vortec mp10, things pretty sweet, the only complaint is there is alot of luggage for it. The power supply is a brick. But the thing is great and adds alot of much needed flow. The LED light is up and running, took me forever to tune them but i got it right where i want it.

Got myself a new coral, orange mummy eye chalice from saltwaterfish.com
pretty sweet, nice dark green, bright orange eyes with a hint of yellow surronding the orange. Ill post pictures of the new coral and the tank lit up tomorrow along with the mp10, i have the lights off for the new coral.

Thats exactly how my LFS owner is like, I swear he doesnt know how to even keep a reef tank alive, I used to buy fish from there until I got tired of them dying haha, now its all about the local forums.. you might as well get it from someone elses fish tank for cheaper than a stressed out coral from the ocean for more expencive

Your tank looks great with the LEDs. What lights are they? I am looking for lights for my 20 long also and I think that is exactly what I am looking for.

I'd chew out that lfs for selling 300ppm RO/DI water tell everyone how bad they are. How Hard is it to change a filter? My tap water is only around 135ppm tds. I use it too and don't have an algae issues.
Anyway did you try a screen on top to keep the jumpers in?
Your making me want to get a glass holes kit and make my 29g reef ready instead of the canister and hob filter I'm using now, its been working for me fine but I want a in sump skimmer and ato but not sure how well it will all fit in the stand.
Thanks for the motivation!
Tanks looking better all the time!
Good luck
