I would set up one of the drains in each corner as primary drains either run independently or teed together down into your skimmer section or filter socks if you have them. Install a gate valve at the ends of these drain lines for adjustment. The other two lines should be set slightly higher than the working water level in the overflow boxes to act as emergency drain lines. Do not place any valves on these lines. I run my emergency drain lines directly into the return pump section.
What do you mean by "upper corner"? A picture would also help. Drain holes should be on the bottom of your tank or in one of the side panes if you are using something like a beananimal drain.
they are the only 2 drilled holes in the tank. my plan is to silicone a wier over each one putting bulkheads in with downturned elbows on the inside and on the outside have it upgrade from the 1" bulkhead to a 1 1/2 " pvc tee with a standpipe going up and other end going to sump. would this work ?
Those could be used for a drain like this one or possible in conjunction with a coast to coast overflow. Based on the description, it definitely sounds like those are for returns. If the back glass isn't tempered, you should look into an internal/external overflow. You would have to drill it (or have it drilled) but it would make for a nice setup.
