New 33g long aga drill glass or overflow box?

Well just like the title says I just purchased a 33g long 48x13x12 tank and am having some difficulties figuring out which route to go. Either an overflow box or have a glass company drill the back glass or do it myself? Drilling seems safer but I know they make an overflow box that will not break siphon so its one or the other. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated on which one you prefer and why. Also any local places that will cut the glass? Oh and how do you figure out the tank/sump ratio? I have a 20g long and was thinking of using that as the sump. Thanks

A overflow box hung on the back of the tank pushes the tank out from the wall and looks ugly. A internal overflow takes away tank space.

I prefer the look of internal. I dont want to see all the plumbing of the external box.

Mu 2 cents.

matt, id try and get the tank drilled if you can and make an internal overflow.

its just 1 less thing to worry about. theres always the chance of the overflow clogging, and it will overflow onto the floor. also as ninja said it, it makes for a cleaner looking tank.

only down side is losing some tank space, but its worht it IMO.

i found 1 LFS on 441 and prospect that drill holes and have been doing it for years. i had my tank drilled there.

20$ a hole.

PM me if you dont know the store.

Thanks for all of your replys! So I am guessing that drilling the tank is the way to go. So now that we have that issue resolved I have a few more questions, bare with me the help and advice is really helping me. So I should buy some acrylic and drill teeth into it and form a little overflow box that will then go into the bulkhead, or do they sell a premade box that has teeth already drilled? I am still new to all of this so I might have the terms mixed up. Thanks

Going to tag along, I at at the same stage. I have a 110 though. Dragging it to a store is not easy. Will they come out or do we have to go there?
