Getting ready to have a custom tank built.

200 Gal (60X30 wide x 26 H)
or
240 (60x36x26)

It is going to have a single- center "island" overflow box.

Was planning on having 2 -1 1/4" drains and 2- 3/4" returns. The overflow box size would be 12" x 6" --well that is the plan.

Just wondering if the hole sizes would be sufficient as well as the overflow size.

going to run 2 -1260 pumps.

Just looking for some input/expertise/experience.

Thanks

No where enough information. A 1260 GPH hour pump is the pumps flow at zero head(no back pressure), a pump curve is needed and you need to do a system head loss analysis taking into account the piping system loss. 1260 GPH is about 20 GPM or about 40 GPM for two pumps, too high a flow for a 1 1/4' return. But chances are the pumps will be pumping much less do to flow restrictions and back pressure.

Or do what most reefers do......just over size the return line by a bunch. I would use at least a 1 1/2 inch return piping up to the pump suction. Set the second return line as a backup, and the height about a 1/2 inch higher than the main return, that way the second return line is never used until the first blinds or plugs.

Let me re word this.

Is that sized overflow box sufficient?

Are 2 -1 1/4" drains sufficient.

Just looking for proper overflow box size and hole size for returns.
