New 40 gallon hexagon project

I just picked up an AGA 40 gallon hexagon that I think would make a nice tank for a pair of rare clowns, or maby a dwarf lion. Is there any way to know if the bottom is tempered with out finding out the hard way?

It is the new All-glass website. They do not show a 40g hex in their list but there is a 35g shown.
The only hex that is NOT tempered bottom is the 10g.

well that kinda bums me out, I was hoping to put an overflow in the center of it. Its an old tank (1993) that might be y it's not listed.

You could still drill one of the sides and plumb it over to the center before going up with the center overflow. You would just have to cover the plumbing that runs across with sand or live rock.

that could be an option. I was trying to completely hide the plumbing so I could set it in the middle of a room, but maby i could build the stand a lil higher on that side to cover it. thanks.

looks like a neat idea. if putting any coral in there could have a 250 watt mh pendent hanging over it.... (sorry don't have one of those for sale...)

I thought it would be cool to stack them ontop of eacy other and use the bottom one as sort of a display fuge. Didn't really think aout the details though, what do you want for yours?

I got in to much of a hurry to stop and take pictures of the 150, but heres a quick one of the hexagon. I built the skeleton For the stand tonight. I had that ten gallon sitting around and it fits under there pretty nice. Had to modify my upright locations a little bit but it's worth it to not have to have a sump built.

I'm going to have it drilled like itZme suggested and build the skin of the stand to hide the plumbing, should be an interesting piece.
