New 6gal converted to 20gal TBS tank!

So about a few months ago I decided to start my first reef tank. I went with an Eclipse system 6 and modded the hood to fit 2x20w PC bulbs. Once i installed both parts of Richard's rock i quickly noticed just how cramped it was and that within a few months I would need to make the change. Within 2 days I made the decision to scrap the eclipse and go slightly bigger with a 20g high. Im much happier with the appearance now and i think the inhabitants will be as well. Here's the pics!

On a sidenote.... Richard is super helpful and the quality ofhis products is INSANE! I was at the LFS today and saw their "live" rock which wasnt so live...(more like just plain rock) for about $10/lb. Even with shipping the whole PACKAGE from Richard still came out cheaper and the quality is a million times better plus if you were to even try to add in the amount of money that the extras would cost it cant be beat. I have no problem reccomending him to anyone.

wow richards generosity strikes again your tank looks great you got some nice goodies..

the crab looks like a decorator crab but isnt a close enought shot to be sure but they are really comical to watch..

in pic 6 that is a rock flower anemone, they will move around until they find their happy place, i have one on my rock and another partially buried in my substrate i feed it a couple times a week w/brine shrimp or small salad shrimps..

Very nice looking tank. It's good seeing smaller tanks as I am considering setting one up also.

How did you exterminate the aiptasia? I have noticed a few in my tank and would like to get rid of them ASAP.

Joe's Juice.... its a syringe that you put right in its mouth and inject. It came back today but I was aware that it would take more than one injection to get rid of it. So far its the only one in the tank so thats a good thing. thanks for the compliments guys...

curley cue... got it, i totally skipped over that one when i went down the list. Glad to say he's alive and well though, he is back to his original spot and fully extended.

How do you like the Viper light fixture? I've read a lot of negative opinions, but it doesn't seem as if any of them are from first hand experience. I'm thinking about using a nano aquarium that has thinner glass than most, 4mm, and wondering if that will be a problem with the mounting attachment, in addition to just general reliability of the fixture.

Would love to hear first hand experience!

i have no problem at all with it, i think you might be ok despite having a thing walled tank, you might just need to sandwich something between the bracket to make it work better. My only gripe about the light is the size of the ballast, its approx: 12x4x4 so its rather unsightly. For the money though, and the fact that its pretty adjustable to mostly any tank, its well worth it.
