New 75G, Not Level

I got this 75G marineland on sale. After getting it home (naturally) I noticed the tank isn't level in the stand. The center brace has a high spot so the tank see-saws over it. The gap is almost 1/4".

What is the best way to address this issue? I would prefer to not exchange if that can be avoided.

before cutting be sure the joints didnt separate while you where moving it, You could try placing a block of wood above the brace on top of the stand hitting it down with a hammer, the block of wood will prevent damage from the hammer to the stand

Brace is attached with staples. I dont know if glue was used. Pulling the staples will be difficult without damaging it but may be possible with care.

3/4 corners sit flush. Just this one edge is warped up.

that would be up to you. I have no way of knowing that answer, If it was me and I just bought something brand new and defective I would return it.

also, be sure the tank is not following your floor, it could be your floor is out of level and the stand is shaping to it, if so, properly shim the stand. I think stands are made pretty flimsy by mass producers and would not recommend removing any support from them

If I knew the brace would come out without too much trouble I'd be tempted to effect a replacement. The issue is definitely with a warp in that cross brace fyi, not the floor.

I'm reluctant to return since I had to get help from someone to drive this over. I don't have a vehicle that fits it. So, this is going to be a hassle then. Bummer.

EDIT:
I am tempted to get a wood block underneath it and pound the cross brace out. If it breaks or leaves behind glue and bits of wood I can always work it over with a Dremel. Then, replace it.

My last Thought/comment about your stand, It may be a few days of trouble to exchange it but a tank is meant to last for many years, I would not risk a poorly made stand under the weight (almost 800lbs)
Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

I have removed those braces on several stands to get sumps in. I just knocked them out with my hand, as you said they are just held in place with basically staples. I have always either put it back with a few screws, or replaced them with a new piece due to the edges being frayed/warped.
