New Acanth=questions

just picked up a new acan today, about a 2" by 2" frag for $10. I currently have 80 watts of PC lighting, I was wondering is that enough to keep the thing alive?

I am also feeding it mysis and brine shrimp 1x a day. It is currently sitting about 6" from the light.

yes, in general acans will do fine under pc's. I have many of them in my nano that has 72 watts pc. I don't know how far down you intend on keeping them, but I have some of mine on the sand and some of them high.

Acan lords IME actually prefer lower lighting. Unless properly acclimated to more intense lighting, they'll be ok.

i just found out what it is, its a echinata acanth. its dark purple with bright pink mouths. i have it high in my tank and i'm feeding it brine shrimp.

it should be fine. be carefull not to feed it too much you can dirty up your water quick.

how much should i be feeding it and with what? i do not have a pipette or baster.
