New achillies tang so shy, what the heck!

So I got my juvi achillies about a week ago. He seems to be doing ok but he is so shy! He spends most of his time behind a rock and at one end of the tank. This is my first one and thought they were aggressive and really active, he was the last fish I added in my 280 reef. The only fish that pays him any attention is the purple tang but nothing more than a raised fin. I'm just concerned he isn't getting enough to eat. He goes right to the food but spits out more than he ever eats. Is this him just getting acclimated? I feed a variety of frozen and nori daily. Have a very high flow in the tank and power heads breaking the water surface creating more oxygen. Any ideas?

If you got a pretty small one he might be shy for quite a while, especially if there are other bigger tangs already established. That has been my experience with similar tangs (like powder blues). Right now I have a 3" powder blue that is the most shy fish in my reef, because he is intimidated by my other tangs. I've had him for about 6 months now too.
