New acro shots from the new D300

Man, you're making it tough to wait for my LCS to get one in stock so I can hold it and see if it fits or not. I like the feel of my D70 and don't imagine the D300 is much different. Beautiful pics. Have you tried the Live View on a tripod with Macro mode yet? From what I've read, you can magnify up to 10x on the LCD. That should help us with less than perfect vision manually focus. My eye doc isn't quite as understanding as yours.

I'm having a really hard time deciding if I really NEED this much camera or not though. My 2 1/2 yr old D70 has less than 6000 shutter activations on it. Do I want it? Absolutely.

YES, you want it! the EMOS sensor makes it worth it alone.

the live view is great, im getting used to it now, however even on a tripod when you touch the lens to focus at a 10x mag, it bounces around a lot, because the smallest movement seems huge when its SO close. However with a little practice, I think im going to use it a lot more.

Ill have to get back to you on it, if you have a D300, i think i can send you the setup file, and you load it, and it will set yours just like mine automatically. Ill have to figure it out first though.

Basic for the newest shots have been aperture priority, iso 800, F-stop of 16, using melev's photobox, and shooting in RAW.

Very nice closeup pictures, I just wonder what kine setting on your camera, f-stop and apeture?

Ill take a new one tomorrow, but all these are in a 4' x 2' x 1' grow out tank, while i collect all the hardware for the big display.

just need the skimmer, lights, and tank. Got the GEO calcium, and kalk reactor, GEO media reactor when they ship, and its being built in wall. Ill be posting a build thread as i go along.

Great sps shots. Do you have a FTS you can share?

Just bought a D300, and I love it....still haven't sold the D200 though...Will be taking some tank pics in the next few days and cannot wait to see how they turn out....also I use a Tamron 90mm for macro shots.

be patient with the D300, theres quit a learning curve. Takes a few times to get used to it, and find what settings you like.
