new acro

hello, I started trying to keep sps in early august this year with a branching monti and a cats paw coral with good success. Because of my success I decided to try an acro because I'm trying to go to a mixed reef dominated by sps. Just wondering if someone can give me an id on it. It is from quality marine but that's all the lfs employee could tell me....first shot is when I bought it

next is four days later

and finally this was tonight after exactly three weeks

....would you guys consider this good progress as far as coloration or is it slow??

Lots of new growth is evident along with the nice green developing - greens tend to be underated at times. Well done, it looked to be slowly bleaching in the pic when you first acquired it imho so i think it owes its life to you mate.

Awesome thanks for the replies guys. I thought it was coming along good but its my first acro so I wanted to check with some people who had experience. It was pretty bad in the beginning you mention it being bleached, well when I got it home and after aclimation I had to cut off about 3/4" of the base because it was so dead it was practically see through. My gf and I have a tendancy to buy and try to save corals that aren't doing well. It really bugs me that fish stores take such horrible care of these beautiful animals its a real shame. I feel like the only thing that places like this care about is getting in livestock and turning it into profit as fast as possible with no regard for the animals well being. I do have one lfs here in Baltimore recently opened called cte aquatics and the owner Phil has been in the hobby for 25 yrs and it shows by how well he takes care of EVERYTHING. I wish all store owners were more like him . thanks again for the help guys . -Greg
