new acrylic 180

I am looking to swap out my 180 for a new design. My current is a single overflow and is verry old. I am looking for ideas on the new overflow design, should I go center, corners or an external calfo/coast to coast style?? Also any ideas on what additional features to consider in an acrylic tank (glass is out of the question)

When I had mine replaced, I went with a single center trapezoidal overflow. It was large enough to house 2 x 1.5" drains and 2 x .75" return bulkheads. I chose the center overflow because the tank is viewable on 3 sides and I didn't want to look at the plumbing from the sides.

If the tank was to be in-wall, I would seriously consider the external everflow. You'd have great access to it (for plumbing, clean out, etc) from behind the wall and increased space in the display tank.

I would go with an external over flow, the tank has to be about 6" from the wall anyway. Just look how much real estate the overflow takes up.

O.K. external horizontal, what would be the optimum depth for it?
I prefer not to have it the full 24 " depth if possible maybe 12" and can I still have the derso's inside the overflow (drilled from bottom of the box not out the back ), also how many across the back ? I am thinking 3 returns
