I got two. One is much more colorful, long horns, and a much more pronounces crest on his back. He is also much more immediately outgoing. Wonder if one is male and the other female? They seem to enjoy each other's company lol

I would say the likelihood is very high that the are male and female. Nice snag, they have great personalities

If they are not male and female you will find out relatively quickly, as cowfish dont tolerate conspecifics in aquaria.

They seem to stick close together. The alleged male does more wondering during the day but always goes back to "hang out" with the other. They are also juveniles though ~1" long

Yes... something I caught lastnight with a dipnet at the boat landing... I think they are juvenile spot or atlantic croaker. I have two in another tank I caught a month ago that are much bigger. There is also an anchovy in that pic, and in the right hand side you can see the reflection of a flounders eyes protruding from the sand
