New African Fuscus Trigger Fish

Sorry i dont think of fish as pets, I can compare my fish to my dog. If my fish dies i flush it and buy a new one. I would never buy a puppy and when it gets too big bring it back to the pet store, however I will do that with fish because there just fish. Fish may have personalities they may require a similar amount of effort in taking care of them feeding them, cleaning where they stay but that's about it.

The Finding Nemo movie was supposed to spead awareness to leave fish in the ocean in result the opposite occured and the hobby grew LFS benefited. You want to be mad at someone be mad at the LFS who sold me the tank and the fish to go in it.

If you want to put the fish I have in a 300 gallon tank more power to you. For me there great to look at, and it stops there. I shared my tank with this site to show people that you dont have to have these boring tanks with 2 clown fish , a goby , a cuc and thats about it. If everyone in this hobby followed the rules in the way you would this hobby/LFS would be out of business trust me.

No need to try to share on why its not right to do what I am doing regarding stocking my tank. Check out the fish admire their beauty and keep it moving. Theres so many people who purposely dont show their tanks because they know, the fish police will be out there hating on the size of their tanks. I personally dont mind the haters, my tank is filled with awesome fish and i will appreciate them for a few months and then get rid of them and swap them out for different fish. Do you guys complaining eat fish by the way, or let me guess do you only eat farm raised fish. Give me a break you guys are too sensitive over these fish.

This thread should be closed asap as it reflects everything that is wrong with the hobby...the ignorance displayed is frighteningly overwhelming...

I would suggest that its "unbelievable" but unfortunately in this hobby, its not

You seen to have about the same philosophy as dog fighters

I agree with you Joe, but most people have the ability, desire, and want, to learn, improve, and gain knowledge, this is clearly not the case here, and not only reflects poorly on the op and another poster, but on the site as a whole...these ignorant troll threads should be shown the door immed, as is the case on many other sites..

I really don't think this is a serious post. Humaguy is probably right that it's a troll just aiming to make people angry. Don't feed the troll.

Its not unbelievable because:

1.3 millions homes in the USA own a saltwater tank
9.5 saltwater fish on avg are kept in each house with a saltwater tank

on avg 400,000 tangs are brought into the USA every year for sale

Do you really think 1.3 million homes are purchasing 3 Tangs each. I didnt think so. Meaning many of these fish are sitting in the petstores for months if not a year.

I personally know a LFS that has had a tessalata eel in their inventory for 2 years. He has resided in the same 30 gallon tank for 2 years. I dont see you boycotting LFS for their practices. I dont see you boycotting seaworld for them keeping dolphins and whales in pools. I dont see you boycotting the zoo's for keeping lions and tigers in cages for the enjoyment/education of the youth. My point exactly.

Your hobby isnt in danger of being shut down, it was alive well before I was born and will be around well after im gone. If you care as much as you do your argument that people in this hobby should only buy captive bred fish and that all fish caught from the wild is wrong and they should stay in their natural habitat.

Mean while im going to continue to educate my children on nature the way I see fit. You come across acting as if im some marine Mike Vick. I spend countless hours making sure the fish that im not emotionally attached too are well fed and have excellent water quality. Im not putting them in situations for them to fight. You assume there going to fight however I know of plenty of hobbyist that dont have aggression issues with their fish and its due to the way they take care of them and the duration of time they keep them.

Im going to end up selling the triggers i have for like 3-4 times what I paid, whats the difference between what im doing and the LFS besides the fact that they have more fish than I do in small tanks ready to sell at any given time.

Be like the people in the dog industry promoting buying from breeders rather than pet stores. But dont criticize people in the hobby that have a different opinion than you.

If you think me requesting the opinion on the quality of fish i have in my tank is trolling your crazy, if anyone is feeding a troll its those that have all of these negative things to share anyway. im sure weve all been taught if you dont have anything nice to say keep your comments to yourself, i didnt ask for opinions on tank size, set up any of that. I said hey check out my new African fuscus. Thats all.. if you dont like the tank oh well thats your opinion but you cant be mad that someone else doesnt agree with you weather its hobby best practices or not

Take a hike bud. This site is for people who actually want to learn, grow, and care for the living creatures in their procession, not look at them as disposable items to replace/throw away when they are bored.

"Hey don't blame be for being stubborn about my bad choices, blame the movie and LFS that sold it to me" what a load of bs...

Maybe you should get out the hobby if not everyone in the hobby shares your same views. the difference between you and I is what you choose to do with your tank doesn't effect me at all but for some reason what i decide to do with my tank bothers you.

In the end of the day there are fish out there that go into tanks in peoples homes that some people recommend based on their set up and some dont. Just realize that not everyone cares to follow the rules, and not everyone cares as much about the fish as you do, in fact just for you ill share a story

this yellow tail damsel i had was really ****ing me off nipping at my clown fish relentlessly, my triggers paid no attention to the clown fish however this one damsel in the tank was really mean. so for ****ing me off , I put the damsel in the toilet let him swim around the fresh water, then i urinated in the toilet let him swim around a little more, than i flushed em alive.. now thats a troll just to get you mad.. in the end of the day i dont care about these fish i can come home to the whole tank dead and i will only regret the loss of my investment not the lack of movement from their mouths and fins... just being honest, its not like i walked into my home and my dog was dead huuuuuuggggeeee difference
