Just a quick note to introduce myself to the people here in the local area. (and to help build my post numbers so I can PM directly from here instead of using the mobile app on my phone called tapatalk.

Back when I got my first job near Augusta, GA, I had bought my first tank (Oceanic 29g) and set it up for SW. This was back in 1988, so you can do the math. Back then, the LFS didn't even offer corals, except the skeletal remains as decoration. So, I kept that going for a few years. During that time, I got married, bought a house, and had three children. I ended up taking down the tank, which only had a HOB acrylic system with overflow type setup. With kids, job, house...just didn't have time/money to invest.

Relocated to the Lynchburg, VA area in 1998.

Fast forward ... now

Had the tank in the garage.
Feb. 2014...thought I'd like to get that 29g up and running with African cichlids since they are very colorful and as close to SW without the work. Ended up buying a 125g off of Craigslist. June 2015, now have 9 tanks, all FW. Bought a 75g drilled overflow tank from LFS and was thinking either Discus or S/W again. But the changes in S/W were astounding and I know nothing. However, I was ready for a change/challenge in this new tank and through the LFS, I was able to meet an amazing and extremely knowledgeable S/W aquarist (dadyoj21) who lives only minutes from me. So, I am trying to gather good used equipment based on his advice and my budget. Still have one child left in college but I am beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel...that must be the SW train. So, I hope I can work out some buys from the ones posted online here. Please be patient, still have a long way to go.
