In the first picture the fixture was twisted a little. This was caused by one cable being slightly longer than the others. Easy fix and now it hangs perfectly centered over my tank.
Looks nice and like Bob said don't nuke anything. Start low and gradually work your way up. What did you have before and what are you running the sol at now?
I had 150w mh with 36w t5 actinics before that was only 6 inches above the water. I have the AI hung about 12 inches above the water and peak at about 35% right now. i will increase slowly and try to find the ideal settings for my tank. the outside of the tank needs a good cleaning. looks terrible in the first pic. first pic had the lights up all the way before i was able to get the timers set.
I also added a Tunze Osmolator for the ATO. Now I just need to add a BRS Phosban reactor and I think I will be done with equipment for this tank. Actually I want to add a battery backup for the system as well.
So far I really love this light. Time will tell if the coral agree with me but so far the only ones that seem to have been affected negatively are some mushrooms. I moved the ones I could to a more shaded area and they are doing nicely. Hopefully the others will get over the initial shock and open up more soon. Its not like they are unhealthy by any means they just stay small.
