I really like your tank setup. And those orange acans are SICK! I have never seen orange like that when i comes to acans. Also, a battery backup is hands down one of the best investments for a tank. I have one, and it has saved me more than a couple times.

reefermadness, if your interested in that acan with the orange center i got it from custom reef creations just a few days ago and he still had 3 more frags i think. very nice new store if you haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Yeah, I've been up there the past couple of days. I was actually talking about the larger colony in the back, the wicked almost solid orange ones. I've had my eye on those acan frags at custom. The brand of battery backup that I run is APC, you can get them at computer stores and places along those lines.

Yeah the ones your talking about do look orange in the pic but they are red and blue. i had to move them to the shade because they were not real happy with the high power leds and they don't photograph well in the shade. plus the blue leds tend to make red acans look kinda orange for some reason. Thanks for the info on the battery backup.

thank you very much. i got an apc battery backup and got it set up. looks good and cleaned up alot of cord mess i had going on next to my sump. now i just need to get my reactors.

If power goes out, and your tank is running on the APC battery back-up, approximately how long will it power your tank for?

I ran an APC for a while. Depending on what one you have it could run a small powerhead for an hour or more. My reef tank is the reason I bought a generator. You can get a 4000w generator for under $500. Tell your wife it's to run an air conditioner or a heater or something and she'll be all for it!

Do you have more tank shots you can put up?

mine says it should last about 3 hrs but i need to test it sometime. just wanted something that would give me some reaction time.
