New anemone shrimp

Since my pink skunks only seem to what to be hosted by my blue Haddoni, I figured might as well get something for the green Haddoni.

Another pair of clowns was out of the question, so went with an anemone shrimp. I was ordering some other stuff from the Diver's Den section of LA, so figured I would get this little guy too. And little is right, I would say maybe an inch big.

I put it in the tank, near the anemone, but not on it, just so it could get do that on its own.

After I took that shot I noticed a couple of small bubble algae, so I got out the tweezers. In the process of getting the bubbles I scared the shrimp, and as luck would have it, it went right into the anemone. The anemone didn't even react, which I am very happy about.

Thanks Kim.

I got some snails, an SPS frag and a new Potter's angel. I had lost my pair when my main pump failed while I was in the hospital. Going to try to pair this one up --- when it settles in, and I find a smaller one.

Hey, very nice looking shrimp. I'e been tossin around adding a few sexys to one of my tanks, or getting a pistol to try and pair with my goby.
Hope your feeling better : )

Thanks, the thing is tiny, but still pretty neat. Yea, I like that idea, been thinking of adding more of those type of inverts to my tanks.

Still feeling about the same -- the back is doing better, but the headaches are still here. The docs still think I have a spinal leak. Going to see if it goes away on its own, in the meantime have some really strong pain killers -- the kind I had to sign a release for.

Todd,
So sorry to hear, you're in my prayers. I have migraines, so I feel for you yet I'm sure I have no idea what you're going through. Now I'm sad : (
Take care, I am hoping for better news soon.
BTW, my tank is doing fantastic, I know it's the lights that make the difference.

Linda

Wow, that shrimp looks great with your green haddoni. I don't know much about anemone shrimp. Do you need to feed it or does is scavenge off the anemone?

Thanks a lot Linda. At least the headaches aren't as bad as they were before the surgery. And the new meds are really helping with the pain, but really make me out of it.

:) Glad that the new tank is going so well. And I know that the lights are the only reason. ;)

Thanks a lot. I THOUGHT it looked cool too (( yes past tense )) When I woke up this morning it was gone. Not sure if it died or was eaten. I would have thought if it was going to be eaten it would have happened right away, but I could be wrong. I might try another one, and see what happens.

As far as feeding it, from my understanding it would have eaten excess fish food, with my tank enough goes near the anemone, but not in it.

.

Just gone? wow that was quick I wonder what got it.

I wish I knew what got it. Granted I never had one of these before, but it seemed to be acting normal. I am leaning towards the anemone, but can't be sure. I don't have any other shrimp in the main tank that could have bothered it --- do have a couple peppermint shrimp in the overflow, and they are doing fine.

When I am ordering something else I will try one more time.
