New Aquarium Store in NJ

Hey all, I just stopped in a New LFS store in the East Brunswick area.
Really nice store with a well round selection of Fresh & Salt water Fish, Live plants & Corals, Dry goods and chemicals.

They've been open for 2months now.

Again, I just stopped in for the first time, and bought some sand on my lunch break but... at a quick glance it looks like he's got a nice selection of full sized corals and also nice sized frags, Also all of the fish looked super healthy and well fed.

I met the owner Howie and he is a really knowledgable guy who's been in the business for 20+years at another location and he also installs and services private and commercial accounts.

He said if there is an item your looking for which he doesnt stock, he will do what he can to get it for you.

He also said he would entertain group buys!

I highly recomend checking them out, I know I will be regular here and will probably stop in later today!

he's not new. used to be pets, pets, pets in somerset. i've been to his old location and who ever ran his fish department did a horrible job. the new place isn't that bad. he has great prices on inverts but honestly, i didn't see any corals worth the prices he was asking.

Like I said in my post he said he has been in the business for 20+ years, The store has only been open for about 2-months and his livestock looks well feed and healthy, and he has a nice selection of dry goods and he's new to the area.

So yes, I consider it a New store. I've never been to pets pets pets.

As for the corals, he does have some very nice colored SPS & LPS colonies and frags.

He told me he was working on a package deal for the frags (something like if you buy X-amount you get each for so and so amount), and said he was still working on stocking up as he has been open for about 2-months.

He also said he's working on a mailing list to notify customers of new arrivals and sales.

As for pricing....My purchase actually was about the same as online vendors without the shipping cost, so I saved the shipping cost and am supporting a local business.... in all LFS the prices are going to be give and take, they have to keep the business running no?

I am very happy to finally have a local store who carries Reef related stock and I wont have to drive 30+miles for every little thing. (the big chains just don't cut it)

I will definitely become a regular at this store. And will also give him my business on dry goods if the price is right.

I highly suggest you stop in and check them out, what do you have to loose?

it sounds like your advertising. if you are , do you have any pellet Mandarins? been looking

I guess it does sound like i'm advertising doesn't it..... I'm just happy I have a LFS that carries livestock that looks healthy unlike that big chains, and dry goods at a reasonable price.

Not sure about the Pellet Mandarins, give them a call.... if he doesn't have it he could probably see if he can get it for you.

Hey all, I stopped in at Aquaridise today and picked up 40+ snails and his prices were very good on bulk lots, large nassarius, turbos & conch.

I also happened ask Howie to look into pricing on two different skimmers for me and he came back with prices better then the major online vendors.

One of the skimmers is on back order everywhere, but Howie said he would call the supplier and let me know a real time frame on when he can get it.... which might help with deciding which one I will go with.

Once I decide, I will place the order.

I know him, he used to work at a place in Philadelphia maybe almost ten years ago. He was a good guy.

AO has a much better/larger selection overall. I agree with you, I'm not a fan of shopping there. I usually hit up captivating coral.

thats a store i haven't been to in a while. not sure why but i always seem to forget about them, and they're even closer to me.
