New Arrivals

Hi all,

After reading this forum for weeks you have made me a 'clown' lover.:inlove: Just got these two and wanted to make sure the LFS gave me good advice.
I got Mysis shrimp from them and they also recommended New Life Spectrum Thera-A Regular Formula
http://www.petco.com/product/112087/New-Life-Spectrum-Thera-A-Regular-Formula-1mm-Sinking-Pellet-Fish-Food.aspx

Didn't get it at petco just found that link. Is this good for my new arrivals? Also I read the FAQ and wondered where you all buy your food online? I haven't checked everything at the store but want to get the best for them if the LFS doesn't have the recommendations in the FAQ.

Here's the new additions, sorry for the blur, just learning how to take pics of fish and it's harder than getting good pics of my kids!

Thanks, willy0508

Yea they gobble them up. Just wanted to make sure they were good for them. Reading the ingredients is tough as the writing is small but they seem to have lots of vitamins and veggies along with the other stuff. I have to cut up the shrimp as they are still a little small for the whole thing.

They have acclimated to the tank great and even like to come out and show off for me already when i come over to watch them!

Pellets are usually more nutritional. It just that not all fish will eat it and some pellets can be nutrient riched ie. Phosphate.

im not too sure those are ocellaris, they look like my percs and also ocellaris dont have that thick of a black bar... ive had both...and my ocellaris's were also more yellow and not the reddish orange that these are... i would say that these are definitely perculas

Definitely Ocellaris. The irises are dark, therefore they can't be Percula.

this is me, thanks, good to know. I try to only put a few pellets in and let them eat those then add a few more and so on, so none go floating to the bottom. Hopefully if some do the Nassarius Snails can clean them up.

ive never even heard of that being a differentiating trait of an ocellaris and a percula, lol, but whatever you say dude, apparently his and my LFS's both lied to us, lol...

Definitely Ocellaris. nice pair too.

i feed my clowns New Life Spectrum optimum flakes,Dainichi pellets and mysis

LFS had them as tank bred Ocellaris. Figured I'd go tank raised seeing as they are my first. I've read a lot of stores mix them up but either way I'll still love them! :lol2:

To be honest I have trouble seeing the difference, they are so close. But either way they are great to watch and seem very happy in their new home.

In time I'll learn to tell them apart. Right now one is a bit bigger than the other and the biggest is about 2.5 inches long. They seem to get along great and when I got them they were the only two clowns in the tank with a few baby tangs so they new each other well. :)
