Just having fun
I started up my 12 gallon aquapod with really no idea of what i was getting myself into. My wife said she wanted an aquarium and instead of going with a freshwater tank we decided that everything was just prettier in a reef tank. I started with 15lbs of live sand, a cool piece of tonga rock weighing 7.5lbs and about 3 lbs of figi. it has only been 10 days and with the help of all at this site i was able to begin adding fish and coral on monday. currently i have 1 piece of pink Pom Pom coral and a small piece of candy cane coral. i also added 2 blue yellowtail damsels. I figured they were cheap so if they did die i would be out a whole lot. all in all everything seems to be doing well. hopefully i will be posting pics in the near future. Any and all advice is welcomed.

10 days is really too early for even cured LR. I would have waited for a month, but you've already done it so... Did you test to see if the cycle ended. Most people also dont like damsels, and their probably the hardiest fish, and you will probably want to get rid of them, so I would suggest getting them out of their before your tank gets more established and I would wait for a while before adding fish. I dont want to bash on you, but you should have researched more. But at least you didnt get a tang.

Well i was really unsure and a little leary of adding things in. I tested the water with my test kit and everything was right where it should have been. I also took a sample down to the LFS and they tested it and with their advice and approval. the damsels are more of a test fish than anything right now. i really dont have any intention on keeping them oncei know for sure everything is ok
