Hey guys, I went to atlanta a few weeks ago and checked out a new store, I thought I should share the wealth allittle incase any of you go that way.
the store is called Creation reef and aquatics. It is fairly new but I was very impressed. there coral tanks are 6'X4' acrylic rimless tanks that water cascadeds over the rims. they are running lumenmax reflectors and t-5s over them. there selection in coral was pretty good ranging from a dozen blastos, a dozen acans, lots of misc LPS and softies, and it looked like basically the whole line of ORA frags most of which were priced very low ($35) for the ORA frags. alot of cool fish to. I almost bought a hawaiian cleaner wrasse but wasnt to confident in there survival.
Anyway I will be going back for sure in a few weeks but thought I would let you guys know it was there. If yall ever plan a trip you can drive down through chattanooga and visit fith day creations then slip down to creation aquatics and get a fix!
as I recall it was basically on the north side of atlanta

Capachino Bay shut down a few weeks ago in Marietta. I noticed this saturday when I was there. I was amazed at this....Nicest store in atlanta...Have no clue what happened...People say one weekend they were just gone....

Weird

Capacino bay closed quite awhile ago. but in my mind they closed a few years ago when there quality went down, I have yet to see a store that was like cap bay in its prime.

Really! they had more selection of rock and corals than anything I have ever seen. Even started the frag market in the area for small coral collectors.....I still can't believe it...I spend $200 every time I visted this place. Guess there just wasn't enough people doing what I do. i still have blastos and zoo's in my tank from them...Guess they will just go up in value? HA!

I still never made it to Capp Bay. From what I heard the 2 owners parted ways and that was the downfall.....just what I heard.

I wasn't impressed with them (Cap Bay)... They were over priced and didn't have the selection I was hoping for... I started stopping by in the past couple years after their supposed down turn...

If you never saw cap bay in its prime you really missed out, like you were saying hesstondc, if you were buying zoos there then you started coming after there downward turn. not that zoos were there down turn, but they specialized in SPS, and only very rare acans, blastos, dendros. you didnt see softies, and even LPS was limited to Rare show pieces. Even when they were about to close they still were better than your average fish store. But it was a amazing treat when it was in its prime. I can go into a new fish store and in an hour or two see everything I need to see and move on. at capbay I would spend half a day and finally have to leave with a headache from sensory overload. I never left feeling I had seen everything I wanted to see, and always wanted to come back constantly. They will be missed for sure. Anyway, check out the new store if you drive through atlanta.
