New battery backup less than 100% charge

I just plugged in my new battery backup unit and found the charge on it at the 10 out of 12 light on the vortech light indicator. My math tells me it is at 83% right out of the box. Will it increase with the battery charger plugged in? I'm just trying to understand how the unit works.

I would imagine if you charge your Vortech battery back-up for eight hours or less, you should have a full charge.

Just to test my Vortech battery back-up, I just tripped my main power and I have 12 lights on my Vortech controller.

I'm sure your battery back- up just discharged a little bit while sitting on the vendor shelf.

Many rechargeable batteries loose their charge over time even when not used. Just plug yours in and let it come up to full charge. Mine did.
