I feed my sponges 10 times a day with automatic feeders and got a skimmer rated for about 20 times my tank to keep my water quality in check with out having to do water changes every day. Blue sponges do need light but not as much as most corals.
coral snow is a good one to go with for those guys. OH and blast the crud out of the tank with flow to keep them fed and happy.
That particular sponge is photosynthetic. You can not apply lessons from that one to others. On the scale of capability the blue one is the guppy of the sponge world!
