I just added a small gbta and it went into a cave. I acclimated it for 1 hour.
Is that normal until it adjusts?

Yeah that is completely normal in my experience. I had a RBTA and it went into hiding for a couple days before it decided to come out. Also, whenever it would split they would go into hiding afterwards.
