just got a bta yesterday . the picture dosnt do it justice its very bright green in person. trying to figure out my camera settings lol. its eating just fine just seems to have wedged itself between a rock and sand i was under the impression that it liked to be on rocks not sand?

That looks like the kind of place that might make your BTA happy. I'm sure the foot of the anemone is on the live rock. They like to attach on the underside of a piece of liverock and extend their tentacles out into the light.

How large is your tank?

appears to be a 10g nano...probably a bit too small to house the anemone long-term, but as long as you can keep things stable it should be okay for a while.

yes thanks. the parameters have been so amazingly stable and just to make sure ive been testing everything every single day for the past week. when it out grows the tank it will go into a 75 thanks :). would you say its looking healthy and good? its alittle more green in person

is there a reason tha during the night the bta shrivels up to picture #1 and dosnt start looking like picture #2 until the lights are on for atleast 5 hours?

#2

is it supposed to be shrivled like the photo above?it looks like this for the first 5 hours of the lights being on then it opens fully up

I wouldn't worry too much about the shriveling that you describe. Typically BTAs will get smaller at night and expand in the daytime--to take advantage of the light presumably,so their host of zooxanthellae can make food.
