New BTA

I added this BTA to my tank on Saturday. Should I feed it directly or will it be ok with my regular feedings of mysis and brine?

Is it common for them to do this when first acclimated?
do what?

I used the drip method for about an hour. It was under quite a few MH before, but it was at the bottom of the tank.

My water params:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
PO4: 0 - .25
CA: 360 - 380
Alk: 15

SG: 1.023 temp is 80.
Alk is 15.

Time for a water change.. that alk needs to drop. Shoot for 9

I like to keep it at least 10, but lately I have been battling CA and Alk. One goes up and the other goes down. I'll get a batch of water going tonight. What would be the minimum mixing time?

Check your magnesium.

Your Sg at 1.023 is too low. Aim for 1.026. I will only use saltwater that has been premixed for 24 hours.

I'm going to mix up a batch and slowly raise the SG. I must be adding too much RO/DI for topping off. I usually keep it at 1.025. I do not have a mag test kit so it looks like i'll need one. Here is a better pic of the BTA. There is definitely more color to it than what this picture shows. It is getting a more pinkish color now.
