New BTA

Hello everyone,
I purchased a bleached pink BTA on Sunday. All was OK until last night my maroon clown decided to host the anemone. On Sunday I tried to feed the BTA a 1/4" piece of krill. The anemone didn't grab it. On Monday I tried to feed him a silverside ... The anemone grab it right away, balled up for about 15 min's. Then puffed up again.

Please look at the pictures. Pic #1 is before the maroon started hosting the anemone. Pic #3 and #4 is after. The maroon keeps diving into the anemone all night and all day today.

Is the maroon clown killing the anemone ?

maroon's can be rough with anemones...it might be a good idea to separate them somehow.

DDAAAANNNGGGG that's one bleached anemone!!! I'd say the anemone is a bit small for that clown. But it really depends on how rough that particular clown is to the anemone.

I would seperate them. That BTA needs to recover before it can take on a Maroon.

The LFS had him in a dark tank with just actinic lights trying to get him that color ,,,!

Yeap ! That what he told me.

Will feeding him every other day help him get his color back ?
Or will the MH light I have do this ?

both keep it fed small meals often

use silversides and shrimp/krill.

I was feeding my maroon clown last night some formula 1, and to my surprise he grab the food and took it straight to the anemone. Than turn back up to the surface for more food from me. Of course the formula 1 melted and oozed out of the anemone about 5 min.'s later.
