New bubble tip and he's hiding in the back...

Krazy

In Memoriam
I bought a good size bubble tip today and he was in the corner this am when I put him into the tank, I just got back in home and he's found his way into a crack/cave I have, he's in the back and I can hardly see him... Is this ok? Is it stressed or something? am I over-reacting?

on a 2nd note, do you think my new cinni clown will host him ?

anemones move until they find a place they like, you never know he may move again just make sure your powerheads/overflows are covered and that your other corals aren't close enough to get in his way if he decides to move again.

Thats the problem, lol I've got a bunch of xenia, some red mushrooms, green star's etc he may take care of for me, but the crack he worked into u cant even see from the front of the tank, hes wedged right in there, it was my banded goby's house.. I dunno, Maybe he'll stay there until he's feeling secure... =0p

well if he doesnt move how will I be able to feed him the goods ???

I know he'll prolly move over the next couple days but I just wanted to make sure this is normal moves for these things...

I appericate the replies !

sorry to hijack this thread.

but i recently got a GBTA about 4 days ago. when i first put it in. it was all nice and bubbled up. now its under this over hang in the dark. thing is, i noticed a rip on the side of it. but now after 3 days or so..my false perc is hosting it. now it wont leave it alone..should i give it a few more days to come out?

Jason,

I would leave it alone. How big is the rip? Is the rip that you see from a recent split? Or is there a possibility it was injured by a power head or something? I'm assuming the rip wasn't there when you got it. Can you post a pic?

This site will help if you need to cover power heads, along with many other things related to BTA's.

redvipe,

maybe it was from a recent split? im not sure. when i got the nem, it was nice and bubbled up and was on the sand bed. the guy at the store said that one other one showed up over night...so i took the one on the sand bed cos it was easier to get off, it was not attached to a rock. when i first placed it in the tank it opened up nicely, bubbled up..then it started movin around...thats when i noticed the ripped. over night it moved into this over hang cave. its been there since, 4 - 5 days now. i cant take a pic of it unless i moved the rock its on. and no, since it has been in my tank. it hasnt gotten close to a power head or anything.

its been 5 days. it there anything else i can do? should i just let it be and hope it recovers? do some big water changes? any experts have any advice?
cos now the tenticles arent lookin full and its not bubbled up.
thanks.

my BTA went to the back corner of the tank as soon as I placed it on the top of the LR, and it have settled in the back of my tank for 2 weeks now....its the place I do not like but it likes it there so I can't do anything.

I have heard many stories of BTA's moving around like they have wheels. Thats just what they do. They are the most mobile anenome. Mine usually hangs out for a few days in one spot. Some times he even stays put for a week or two.

Sounds like normal BTA activity to me. Mine looked great for a couple of days, then went into hiding for a week, then started looking for a new home for several days. It eventually found a nice rock at the top of the aquarium and settled in. Fortunately, I was able to rotate the rock so that it was facing the front of the aquarium and it has stayed put for a couple of months now.
