New camera, new pics

Well I finally tried to get some macro shots with my new camera and some turned out OK .... I am going to have to start using manual focus with this camera (Canon S2 IS) since its auto focus doesn't work as good and the old one I had (Olympus C2100-UZ).

Here are a few pics. Hope you like.

Erik, these are the zoas I got from you

This is the caulastrea I won in the COTM raffle in Sept

My purple lobster challenging me to a showdown for his territory

This is the purple hammer coral I got from Cindy (Thanks again Cindy) Each head opens to about baseball size.

These were taken with a +10 macro lens and UV filter attached to the 58mm lens adapter.

How did I know you would ask that?... I will do my best but the whole thing is hard to get into the lens and if I do you can't make anything out. The first 2 pics show the design and the last few show the contents.

This clown loves to tempt fate. :D He even rests totally on the clam sometimes.

They like to swap BTAs ... these are clones. I got the original from Connie and it split but they have moved right there and don't mind being intertwined at times. The clowns usually each have one to sleep in at night.

Nice setup. When you explained how your tanks were setup, I didn't visualize it well. much nice than I thought!

I really need a bigger tank...

I like the left side tank more but I think that it is becase of that sweet clam! Thanks for sharing :). Let me know if you want some corals.

I have the S2 IS as well. I have a hard time with macro shots on it. I had a Powershot A75 before that and it took way better macro shots with no extra lenses.

Here is a sample from the A75. I dont think I could ever get a shot that good out of the S2 IS.

Another one from the A75. I wish I still has this camera. Sorry for Hijacking your thread. I am just not happy with the S2IS at all. It might be me though. If anyone has any hints or tips on the camera I would appreciate them.

Erik, That's the one ... didn't recognize it without the green hair algae covering it and the rock? LOL

Here's another close picture of the clam's colors. Not a bad macro shot but that is through the +10 macro lens.

The colors have changed alot since it went under the overdriven T5's. I didn't know clams would change colors but if you remember it was ugly brown and a little yellow. Now it has lots of purple streaming through it and has a bunch of new growth showing. I think it eats well with the gravity overflowing 140g fuge :D

Erik, does this look familiar? :(
Don't be so ready to be nice to Erik or you may end up with this. It's is what you get when you work out a deal on some "cheap live rock"

I added the 2 sea hares after the CORA swap and they have cleaned it to what you saw in the first pics.

The zoo's are streching, they need more light.
I warned you about the stuff but the noobie you were you didn't listen. BRYOPSIS is a KILLER only a handful of things work against it
Im glad I got rid of it all and don't have that issue anymore.

OUCH!!! Thems fightin' words... I never listen ... seems to be one of my many problems. My choice in friends seems to be another ;)

I am glad I got rid of most of it now also. I got my fuge back online and the sea hares do a nice job of tearing it up.

Here's another of your babies in my tank too Erik...

In all my years in the hobbie, I've never come across anything as tuff as byropsis, Its enough to drive a reefer insane.

Hi Kevin,
Your set-up is looking awesome! Great job. My family and I really have to make a drive to your pad to hang out and see your tanks! I really like that clam.
