Hi all,

After a lot of research and phone calls, I found a carbon that seems to perform the same as ROX 0.8 - the premium laboratory-grade carbon sold by many retailers.

I've tested it and it works even better for me. I'm looking for a few members to test it out in there systems to see if they also have good results.

PM me please if you're interested.

Best regards,

The way most people know if there carbon is exhausted - checking the color of their water.

Easiest thing to do is get a white bucket the depth of your aquarium and fill it with water when you do your water change. If it's yellow, time to change.

Interesting. I've never really run carbon unless I feel something got in water. Never noticed a difference with or without. I do use ROX. I should probably run more regularly. Thanks.

I'm with Dan. I only use carbon on 1 of 2 occasions: I want to polish the water to impress a guest or I think something bad is in the water and I want to try and filter it out.

Maybe you could bring some to the meeting on Saturday, I'm sure you could find a couple of volunteers to try it out.
