New Chalk Bass sitting in a corner

I added two Chalk Bass to my tank on Monday. So far I have only seen one of them, and this one is sitting in a corner where it has dug a little indent in the sand. I dont have any fish that are aggressive and have seen none go near him so I dont think he is being bullied. Is this normal for newly introduce Chalks? As I mentioned I have only seen one so far, I have no idea where the other one is or if it's OK.

Chalk bass are pretty chill imo. The one I had was a semi cave dweller who kept to itself and didn't bother any other fish, quite timid.

I have no seen both fish. Basically when I feed the tank they come up and mingle with the other fish no problem, but the rest of the time one sits in the corner of the tank barely doing anything and the other takes shelter inside my xenia. Dont these fish swim around much? I got them as my tank felt empty most of the time but they arent really helping with this problem as they arent swimming around.

Sometimes a dither-fish helps. A fish that has no brains and is always up and swimming. The fact he hasn't been eaten by sharks reassures the others. Chromis are good at it. But the basslets in general are reclusive. I see my royal gramma mostly at feeding time and after.

They are braver in a group IME, I have had singles that behave as the OP describes. Eventually they all got brave enough to join the crowd. Fairly aggressive eaters but do not bother other fish. Great fish.
