New Clam But Dont Know Species!!

I just got my first clam, so be nice..I went to my LFS and they had them on clearance (I Guess) but they were cheap... What kind of clam is it, maxima, crocea... They didnt know, or wouldnt tell, and does it look healthy?

Thanks Viper, I thought crocea had the spike like things on the side, I will try and get a photo but it never stays closed enough to get one... Also I had to put it on the rock work because it didnt like the sand bed, it wouldnt open down there but after moving it to the rock work it is always open.. It shouldnt be an issue on the rocks should it...

crocea's preferr to up on the rocks, closer to the light.

crocea's and maxima's are the most light demanding clams

Crocea's have pretty smooth shells. That one is most definitely Crocea.

Most croceas are smooth on the sides. But you can easily tell from the shape of it. A nice clam.
