My new and first clam squamosa moves from the spot I set him on the sand bed closer to the front glass , I moved him back but the next day he is closer to the front glass again, his mantle gets pressed between his shell and the glass , is this ok?
Here is a pciture where I placed him, but he moves forwards over a day or two till he is right against the glass

It's just trying to find a comfortable postion to settle down in. Once it's settled, just leave it, it won't hurt it to be against the glass. If it did, it wouldn't go there.

FWIW I have a small (3") squamosa that simply refuses to stay upright. I pick it up and place it upright on the sand bed and within minutes, it toples itself over. It seems to be quite content in that postition and is growing nicely, so I really only bother it occasionally for tank maintenence around it so I can scrape the glass. Yup...he's right up against the glass as well.

He is not downhill. The Long nose doesnt touch the corals, but it does pick at the starfish and snails sometimes .

I was joking about the hill, forgot the ha,ha. I have a couple of crocea that move toward the glass and turn themselves sideways as if they are laying down. (the lazy creeps) I have yet to figgure it out. I wonder if they like the light reflecting off the glass- if any?

IMO your clam is trying to find a place to anchor himself. Mine did the same thing until I placed a flat rock under him. Now he stays in place. It's tough to clean the glass with a clam against it.
