New Clam Still Problems

I bought a crocea about a week ago. He attached quickly and was totally opened up the first night. Since then, he keeps falling off the rock and is open but the mantle is not pushed out over the edges of the shell. He will push out to the edge of the shell, but never spills out over the edges.

it could have been weak when you got it. if it was kept under less then ideal lighting/water at the lfs, supplier, wholesale,or disease. its hard to say. clams can be dieing and look good untill one day, gone.

yeah....it did look good when bought...under 400 watt mh at the store and good water....same that i use....maybe there is something missing from my reef supplement?

What is a must for clams?

my lfs is good to take things back and try to bring em back to "life" so to speak....maybe something in my system is causing it problems....i had such a rough start with my tank that there may be something in there that we cant see or detect. maybe i'll take him back and see how he fares

last question......do you target feed your inverts and corals......my lfs says no need that the plankton/cyclopeeze spreads throughout the water column good enough...

i dont intentionally feed my clams, just light. as for flow unless its mantle was flopping in the breeze, i doubt it
